Conventional or Synthetic

Im purchasing a remanufactured engine from autozone for my 5.0 91 lx and i was wondering after the first break in period with the conventional should i stick with it or switch to synthetic from there on out? And does anyone have a brand preference, I have always used castrol in my rodeo, but obviously my mustang is no isuzu.

For break-in use non-detergent 30-40W conventional oil for 1st 500 miles.
Then switch to 10W-30W/40W conventional.
If you change oil twice a year (spring/fall), you don't need synthetic.
It is for people that neglect their cars.
With regular oil changes, 300K miles is not uncommon for conventional oil.
Overheating is what causes rapid wear on rotating parts.

go synthetic since it will reduce wear and friction after you break it in on conventional.
We had a van(5.4 v8) that came into our ford dealership that came in for an axle leak which ran real strong (and still is) ,so I looked at the odometer and what did i see over 500,000miles on it.Guess what type of oil he runs Mobil 1 synthetic
