plz aods can hadle a lot more power if its built..i have had t-5s and aods,c4s,if any signif mods are in near future i would get a built aod,c4..firstthings folks do is a good gear swap without knowing what power range there engine has..4.10s are good but not good gears unless good mods are there or soon to be instaled..373-355 are much better for a more stock..yes you may spin more off line with 410sin a stocker but will lose ya power band faster...i have had 410s and a good not majorly but a good aod and it can be shifted manually or not just adj ya kick down..

i know aods can handle a lot of power. and you can do the 1-2-1 shuffle with them, and it really isnt too good for them. but t-5s are generally a lot more fun to drive because they are meant to be shifted manually in their stock form.

with mine there is no 1-2-1 shuffle. Its 1-2-3 with a lock out overdrive on a switch.

if you plan on a lot of track time then go head and keep the aod and build it, if you going to be driving it,then the t-5 will be tons more fun

i have a aod fox and i shift it if i want and cost around 600.00 to make it a perf tranny.. i have kevlar bands, clutches, servo, shift kit, i have a 3200 edge racing stall i can slam my gears too.alotta guys think i have a stick i can down shift also..t-5s are good ,but ya cant shift more consistant, then a good auto..t-5 is okthough.. when it goes out most tranny houses charge several hundred for a stock t-5..i say keep the slush bucket save money either get aod built,or get a tko then wont have to pull it later to rebuild for a set up

you will also have to bypass the neutral safety switch which means just tie the 2 wires together! then your car will try to crank in gear. this isnt a problem for me, but might be for some ppl. Otherwise you will need to wire up the clutch switch on the pedal assy.

You can keep your automatic crossmemeber. take the speedo cable out of the hole its in now and relocate it to another hole there might be a hole already in the firewall with a rubber grommet. I cant recall on that year model. Then run your clutch cable thru the hole the speedo cable was in originally. you can use either drive shaft also.
the hardest part is swapping out the pedals. especially since you will have to pull his, pull yours and install his in your car.

its more cost effeciant to build a c4 instead of an aod for the track.

i agree with ujslost, swapping the pedals is the hardest part. ford made the automatic and standard fox's exactly the same, so its pretty much a straight foward install

Do it brotha,
5spd is hella fun. A kind of fun you can't beat.
I swapped my AOD after it died for a T5.
make sure to check you angles, if your off you may get vibrations.
they say the cross members are interchangeable but be safe and find a cheap MT cross member.
Good Luck brotha
