Crate motor Question
Hey i am still looking around and am not sure what crate motor to purchase. I do not want to spend more then $5000 on it. I was thinking of getting a 351 or something like that. I went to a shop in my area and know the guys there real well. They told me to just get a 302 crate motor because if i get any thing other then a 302 i will have to get a new exhaust, and do some other pain in the ass mods. What does anyone think and what would be a great completely assembled, ready to be dropped in, no mods necessary, close to 400hp crate motor to purchase? Thanks for the help.
Meg

Originally i was going to buy a 347 kit but my motor is too old and it is going to cost me just as much all said and done to get my motor rebuildt and buy everything i need for it plus labor. It would be less of a headache to just buy a brand new crate...just not sure which one to get.

trust me man i"m rebuilding my old 302 right now it's not hard to install the rotating assembly but If you add up the cost of all the block work and balancing and new freeze plugs and cam bearings and so forth and so forth. Ordering a woody short block almost come out equal and saves you a shit ton of work. It's totaly the way to go
