Clutch cable adjustments
I found the problem to my loose pedal and non-engaging clutch. The two nuts on the clutch fork side were loose as hell.
So, I tightened them and what do you know...the play in the pedal is gone. So...... I go to drive it and the clutch pedal comes almost all the way to the top before the clutch engages...it's undriveable like this. Do I just keep moving the tightening nuts back to get proper pedal feel and then tighten, or is the cable itself too far gone? I tried looking at the deal on the firewall, but it doesn't turn or anything so I don't know what to do with it. Halp!!

Just keep adjusting the cable until you pull the clutch about 2 inches off the floor where it should grab. I have to play with mine just so that it doesn't grind going into first.
Where the cable goes through the firewall, is it a threaded metal type fitting or just a large plastic fitting? if plastic I don't think it's a firewall adjuster. |

THe clutch cable should be adjusted so that the slack is just barely taken up. Then wherever the clutch releases is where it releases. Your clutch might just be severely worn.
