oil pressure gauge

how are the stockers in the 5.0?

in my 01 GT it stayed put but in the 91 it stays in the dead center at idle and moves up to around 2/3's when driving..
oil is fine.. just changed her out with mobile 1

I remember hearing about the stockers being crap but just wanted to know..

it can fluctuate HMUSN, it should stay put but some of them do move slightly.
I think during a certain year they put some sort of resistor or something in the dash because ppl kept complaining about the gauge moving. this was suppose to keep the gauge steady after reaching a certain pressure.

I always thought it was just a matter of rpms being that it runs off the distributor gear. I noticed it also but sense it never dropped lower than halfway I didn't think it was a big deal.

I'll just replace it with a mechanical and call it a day.

would prolly be best anyways cuz it just reads it electronically of the side of the block and had friends have them go bad and go w/ mechanical ones in.
