If I was in your shoes, I would leave the speed density and just run an AEM standalone. That way there is no need for a chip or MAF conversion. Thats just me, I dont know how you feel about self tuning, but that is what I would do.

The volumetric efficiency is diffrent so all the scalers and tables will be off.

with your set up theres no way that the stock speed density system will work properly. Its fairly simple to do a MAF conversion and not too expensive either. It is possible to keep your car running on speed ensity but it must be tuned by a professional.I I were you I would just do the MAF conversion

dont get a cam just get a custom cam and you should be fine man... the only problem I see there is the cam... everything else looks good... so custom cam for SD should do it..

???????? A cam thats going to work with s/d is prob going to be on the smaller side so vac isn't affected. Why bother if you spent the money on a 347 spend a little more and convert the thing to mass air it's not that hard to do.

i know enough to know that SD will not take a big cam, and to have a 347 and afr 185 would be dumb not to have a cam that could support, i bought the computer and maf out of an 89, any suggestions on what injectors and what kind of chip i would need to get the most out of this set up....thanks for all your replies keep them comin

An AEM doesnt care how efficient your motor is.

Carb that bitch. Seriously, less headaches and tuning is simple. Everytime you want to up the ante, you don't have to run off to get this or that changed, worry about whether you MAF is gonna like what ya did, match this to that, that kind of crap. On top of that, I will put a carbed engine up against an EFI at the track with the same engine / mods any day (and win). EFI street manners are alittle better but if you want a grandma car that plays nice on the street, buy a Taurus.

i have a trickflow stage 2 in my 347 and i love it it is very streetable has good power and sounds great.

the maf conversion is easy i did it in my 88 with your set up get a set of 30lb injectors and a c&l with stock sensor and 30lb sampeling tube.
make sure up upgrade to a bigger fuel pump too.
