Affordable Headers at good quality?

Hey guys i have E.L. Shorty Headers but they are in pritty rough shape now and are old and have a leak, so im looking at getting new ones. But i heard that LT's are better and will give more HP? If so, i was looking on Summit and saw the "summit brand" Headers and was woundering if they are worth it or are they junk?
But 1st off for me my car will be just a weekend car, every once in a while and only driven in the summer. So it wont be driven every day ( if that matters ) But im just looking for LT headers that are good but afforable too. I was thinking of these but dunno if they are junk or not, i figured if i got them i would prob. just rap it with the heat insilator tape stuff. I dont care if it doesnt look sexy, just want it to do the job, and hold togeather. So that was the plan, but was woundering what you guys think and if there are some other opinions or idea and what not. Anything helps. i appriciated it.

Know one even has a guess about these?
Summit SUM-G9030 - Summit Performance Headers - summitracing.com
Or any other header set for that matter?
And how important is flange thickness?

They are decent for the money. You will get numerous opinions here, any where from thumbs up to they are junk and not worth the steel they are made from. I have used them and had no problems. From an ease of installation stand point, you will be better off sticking with shorties as switching to any brand long tube will require a fair amount of work just getting them in not counting modifying the exhaust system. If you want a little HP gain just go with an equal length shorty like MAC or BBK. Get the coated ones and they will hold up better, the chrome ones are cheaper but require a little upkeep and the painted ones will rust so they will need repainted with a coating to keep them decent. Flange thichness makes it easier to get a good gasket seal and maintain it but as long as you fit them up properly and don't use the bolts and flanges to pull stuff together it does'nt matter all that much. Hope this helps.

you should wait until people get up and have a chance to answer before complaining about it.

every header has its good points and every header has its bads. i have a brand new set of flowtech 1 5/8 lt sitting here iwas going to use and then never did and didnt give them to the next owner so i still have them sitting there in the garage in the box. Just get what you want thicker flanges shouldnt warp doesnt mean they wont though.

mac makes really nice lt the chrome ones are 250 and ceramac is closer to 400, and they also make the h-pipe to hook right up to you're existing catback

flange thickness is very important. thin flanges warm and start leaking and become a nightmare to fuck with all the time

i prefer bbk headers over about any.i have summit longtubes and hate them.

about the flange size i was given advice from darrel when i was considering headers and with ones like these. they are good for the money just cut the flanges after the bolt holes so that it wont warp the whole thing.
