82 mustang 5 lug conversion
Ok I see all these kits for 87 up 5 lug conversion, I have a 82 5.0 Gt that I am wanting to do the conversion so what do I need to do to do it. I dont know if I have the 28 or 31 splined axels. Anyone that has a parts list would be a great help.
Thanks in advance. |

with a 7.5, I'm pretty sure you have 28 spline axles. I think they are the same as the 8.8 axles so you should be fine there. Not sure if the spindles and brakes are the same, I don't think they are and I am not sure about the rear drums either, so those will be your sticking points. I would probably just upgrade to the newer GT brakes up front.

You can also use the rear axles from certain year rangers BUT you need 2 left side axles because the rangers rear ends have offset rear axles, which means the right sides are a different length than the left side.
I forget which year rangers you can use but I'm sure it's on the internet somewhere.....

with the ranger rotors you cant run wheels like saleens and cobra rs and bullets and still fit the center cap on. but draglites and racing wheels work fine.
