![]() An easy way to tell what you have is to raise the rear tires off the ground, mark the tire and set at either 12 o' clock or 6, onces thats done mark the driveshaft where you can see it before rotating the tire. As you rotate the tire count how many revs the driveshaft turns. If you have a 2:73 to 1 rear end in your car. This means that the drive line must make 2 complete revolution plus 72% of another revolution to turn the rear tires one complete revolution. Nice find by the way!

you might wanna get your money back...you can get ford racing or richmond gears for under 200 and any decent shop around here can install for 150-200...and you can land M/T et streets for lioke $169 a piece..

Your a real character. Okay so i said gears cost anywhere from 4-600. Now, you just wrote, for the gears around 200, for the isntall around 200. 200+200 equals 400. Thats if you get a really nice deal. A nice slick will cost around 200 a peice, thats 400. Because again 200 plus 200 equals 400. 400 plus 400 equals 800. 800 plus 500 is 1300. So if he gets two good deals, we didn't even throw shipping costs in for the tires (assuming he gets them at a shop, which they usually would rape and bring the price even higher) than i am 200 dollars under what i said. And i am extremely sorry for being off by 200. I live on long island, I had three estimates of 1000+ dollars for gear jobs. Look up long island New york speed shops, speedway performance, Tranny Man, and several other all quote 1000+ for gear jobs.

Well why in the hell dont you put them in yourself? that would equal about 600 total for the slicks and gears.

Sorry dude but a gear install for $1,000 someone is getting raped with no vaseline there!
Call summit racing for the slicks man. They are pretty cheap and shipping is only like $12 and that includes both tires.

sans the paint, that car looks like it's in great shape, definitely a great find. Glad you fixed the problem.. and yes, I have heard of whistlers, and its not a bad thing that it is out of your car now, haha.

haha ya thats what i was thinking lol, ya i might just cut off the clear coat and do a nice hard coat of flat black not sure tho also, i want to do a few things to get it to move a little better then it does. nothing dramatic, just a way to cheat out a few more horses, under drive pullys, mass conversion, injectors, throttle body, maybe a explore intake if i can find one for cheap |

If you're running the stock heads, stick with the stock injectors. With injectors, you don't make power with them, you support it. The stock 19's should be good for about 300 hp. I'd spend the money on the gears instead, best bang for the buck in these cars, except maybe nitrous.

Dark green pics
I saw one of your other posts and was wondering if you still had those pics of that dark green notchback. I just bought a red notchback 5.0 coupe and I am trying to decide what color to paint, and I am leaning toward dark green but wanted to see one.
THanks, Jason |
