Check all the wiring good.
There is also a fusable link over by the Soleniod that might have burned up.

I believe the wire with the fusible link is brown off the soleniod.

stock pulleys. could the soleniod itself cause any problems if it is bad because it has never been replaced.

I doubt it if it was bad the starter wouldn't work at all.

The last time my Alt. burned up it burnt the fusable link.
Look at the pic the Green wire is the replacement link kind of hard to see where it goes but you can see where it is.

hey man, my pullies have been changed but this problem just started and they have been on for a few weeks. I changed the battery but sometimes it still wants to die while at a stop light. Should i just bump my idle up a bit to around 800-1000 rpms? Or should i get a new alternator as well.

ok when my car is idleing it will charge pretty good, but as soon as i back out of the driveway the volt gauge starts bouncing around from red to normal and then the battery light and check engine lites will come on and the car will start to die then it will pick back up and drive a little further then do it again and again.
