help with control arms....

i bought lakewood upper and lower control arms and put them in last night... is it possible that i over tighten them. the car in the rear feels way to tight and is stiff as hell. i also put 50/50 lakewood shocks and the car don't move.. should i try loosen the bolt or this is normal?

i thought since u put the 50/50 in it would like drop down when you launch the car.isn't that what you want the back to drop down and the front to come up to hook better?????

did you tighten all the hardware before you loaded the suspension? if so jack it up and loosen everything again and let the car down and tighten again with weight of car on suspension

my car dead hooks. It might not fee like the bac will go down any but when your car leaves it will squat.

My dads car is the same way and he goes 7.80s on drag radials. With a 1.21 60ft.

Stock shocks are a 50/50 ratio. No you don't want the rear to squat. When a Mustang squats it is unloading the rear tires and wasting horsepower.

Rebuild the stock rear end and call it a day. Or upgrade it using the Cobra carbon fiber clutch packs. Ryan did a detailed write up on rebuilding the stock traction lock. Trac-Lok rebuild how to.

Maybe Ryan will chime in. I don't know a lot about the Cobra rear ends.

yes, you can use the 31 spline cobra diff. For drag racing, you're not putting nearly as much stress on the diff as you do taking corners under power.

My stock unit with 4 normal clutches is holding up to 500 hp at the wheels. The carbon fiber clutches are designed to hold upto 500 hp, so if you pack 4 of them, I would say you are more likely to break an axle than burn up the diff...maybe 750 hp. More than that and you might want to start thinking about a spool and 33s anyway.

yea if you get non adjustable lower and upper control arms in the rear, you will be very stiff and have maybe some break in period in a sense for the way it feels or how it reacts right away, but its more of the bushings more then anything, and you want stiff bushings, better control and more reliable less chance of shit breaking....dont loosen your bolts, that wont matter one bit, just make sure there tight and just i guess let it kinda wear in a lil bit. now a lose bold youll definitely notice a slight difference, maybe some wheel hop but everything being tight and stiff is the way you want it.
