i've seen hci with some supension and slicks pull wheels but at the track. I've seen a 97 impala ss pull like two feet on a preped street but it had a built 502 with a huge stall suspension and slicks.

That WAS my honest and polite opinion. Would you like to see my impolite reply MR. editor? Are you his daddy coming to his little boys rescue?

I guess for some people growing up is like shoving the square into the circle.

I couldnt care less if you "think" your being polite. Your bashing on the guy, period. Its bullshit, and its not welcome here by anyone.

Lift the front end? Yes. Lift the front tires off the ground? No.

Ive seen wheelies on the street in person, and its pretty crazy how much time goes into a decent launch pad to get a car to yank em up. The launch pads ive seen were just as good, or sometimes even better than the track. If your trying to do this on an everyday street, or at a stop light, its not going to happen. Doesnt matter how much horsepower your making.

Besides, save the craziness and wheel-stands for the track, where its safer.

So what do you call that^^? Sounds like bashing to me you hypocrit

If you want to condone his childish ideas and actions, then go ahead but dont give me or anyone else here YOUR bullshit when we call him out on it!
Maybe if enough of us tell him how much of a bad idea it is, he might not not go out and try this sill stunt...and maybe...just maybe..his life or someone else's might be spared!
He even admits it's a dumb question in the title of the thread so how do you expect us to react?

dude, chill out. he asked if it was possible to lift the wheels on the street, not if it was possible to drive 200mph between traffic. how is launching hard (or atleast trying to) on the street endangering anybody?

Launching hard on the street or pulling wheelies, implies dragracing or some other type of illicit activity that is best reserved for the drag strip....period!
If he wants to put sandbags in the back of his car and try and do wheelies at the track and make an ass out of himself in front of a 200 people then go ahead just as long as he doesnt try it on the streets.

man, calm down.

he never said that HE was going to do it. he was asking it as a general question. does he want to try it? maybe, but he never said that he was going to. he thought it would be badass to have a DD that could pull the wheels. i think it would be sick to have a twin turbo system forcing air into a postive displacement blower, but am i going to do that, probably not. youre getting fired up over nothing, and before you try and rip me a new one over the internet, dont bother.

plus it would take an unreal amount of time to make dry pavement into a wheelie launchable surface. unless all of the planets align, the tires are just going to go up in smoke, its going to break something (with the weight and drag slicks), or its going to squat really hard

I had a 306 slow as shit with drag radials warmed up good, pull a foot wheelie off the light with a trans brake and me in my old 302 in the next lane. it can be done if the suspension is dialed in. i cannot say if he was spraying or not though. His car was not quicker than high 12's low 13's.

I call "that" a polite way of saying your being a jerk, and you need to back off. Theres no hypocrisy here at all. Im not calling people names, and accusing them of being stupid. Thats you. YOUR the only person in here who has a problem with this thread. Cool your jets already.
