How did you get the top nut off? I've tried 3 or 4 times and ended up darn near stripping that grove out.

BTW, I have no air tools, so if it can't be done with regular hand tools I'm screwed.

u take thewheel off first then the calaper. then using a big ass breaker bar and a cresent wrench "i had to use a 2 ft pipe at the end of the breaker bar" to break those 2 huge nuts loose. then once those are off the 3 bolts that hold the top plate on the strut tower are removed then the shock will fall as one whole peice. then using a 10mm wrench on the tip with a wrench for that top nut u can get that nut off then switch all the bushings put the nut back on and then the shock will go right back up just put the 3 bolts thredded on. u can use a jack to align the arm and the new shock to put the bolts in, tighten and your set.

"try and get the tower plate in the same place you took it off from use a sharpie to mark it or something"

From underneath, I moved the plastic protective boot out of the way and attached a pipe wrench to the shaft of the strut to hold it from spinning, then a socket and a breaker bar to the nut on the top. The pipe wrench on the shaft will tear up the shaft and ruin the strut it but you are replacing it anyway.

Maybe not the easiest way but it worked.

I have my front springs from h&r and tockico on my vert and the catconverts are about 3 inches off the ground. I should have stuck with the H-pipe that came with the car(not stock)

Just out of curiosity what made you decided to go with the lakewood 90/10's over the more streetable 70/30's???

I'm going lakewood up front to and I was going to g with the 70/30's so I'm j/c....

well i was going to get the 70/30 but i pushed buy it now on the 90/10's so i just stuck with them... it drives great it seems to be very streetable. i kept them cause they are better for launching and my car will be at the track more then a typical street car.
