Cutting out?????

I need some ideas guys... My 89 lx is giving me some trouble. If i really give it hell and run the r's up as soon as i shift and stand back in it the damn thing falls on it's face. I really don't think it's fuel related. It is almost like it's loosing spark. IT just cuts out and then hits real hard again. sometimes it will cut out 2 or 3 times.

Either it is loading up because it is very rich or you are having intermittent spark problems. Check for codes, look at your plugs immediately after this happens.

Thanks man. I need to get over in your neck of the woods and have you look at this thing. Having a hell of a time with it lately. I've had the hood off and on about a dozen times this week finger banging it. I just can't seem to figure out what's going on. I also noticed that once it does it, it will surge real bad at idle. once i shut it off and let it set for a few then it like resets or something and idles fine???????

I have an aftermarket tach and it's only reading like 5500 when it all goes to hell. so i really doubt im hitting the limiter. anyway how can i buypass that rev limiter.
