1984 vert

Hey I am looking at an 84 convert 5.0 5 speed.is there anythign inperticular that i should be paying atttention to?I have restored a couple mustangs but never a convert.Thanks

not really nothing special to pay attention just if your gonna put some real power to it get some good frame connectors and a roll cage

just check for all the typical things on any fox, like accident damage, cracks underneath the pass and driver seats, rotted radiator supports, and make sure it wasnt hacked up, like the wiring or shitty exhaust work.

and i believe allthe covertables had subframe connectors on them from the factory, or else it would fold in half on the first bump you hit because there is no hard top or upper car support above the rocker panels

yeah they come with a x frame connector its not enough its just a 3/4 inch pipe i would buy a good set of frame connectors blue oval industries have some good ones and i agree with 83 fox you need to check for cracks both seat

ohh yeah i remember now, its been a while since i seen under my buddies vert.

and get subframe connectors with seat supports, it can only help a factory weak floorpan
