the car was much worse then it looked, besides that was the second time it was wrecked, the first time some drunk 17 year old ran a red light an t boned me in the passengers side right where the door and fender meet in his g/f's moms car, i ended up with a salvage title and 3500 after i bought it back, i bought rims and had the car repaired but it was never the same, it squeeked and rattled and just wasn't right. the second time was my fault plus i couldn't collect insurance so i parted it out and made out pretty good

Not if you fix it yourself. I racked up my 88 GT worse than that and fixed it for cheap and it had a clear title still.

I guess that is one way to look at it. If you would rather search around for another rust free notch and fork out more money than the car is worth to buy it, that is an option as well. For me the little bit of time I stuck into it was worth it. I originally bought the car for $2500. I wrapped it around a telephone pole a year later. I bought a quarter section of a Mustang from LKQ Smart Parts for $250, spend another $700 for Mike's Frame & Alignment to repair the right rear quarter section of the car and straighten the chassis and then I spent another $400 or so on paint and supplies. I did all the body work and painted the car in a weekend. Later that year I won best in my class with it at the annual Wisconsin Dells car show. Then I sold it for $7500. Yeah, my time was worth alot with that car. I figure I made about $100 and hour that weekend when I painted the car. It was well worth it for me. The insurance company never knew about the accident and you could not tell the car was ever wrecked or repaired no matter how big your magnifying glass was.
