stock 5.0l (89 gt) compression ratio


what is the compression ratio for a stock 89 gt 5.0

if ima boost it i need to lower the comp ratio so im thinking of getting a very thick head gasket to just take .5 off or something...

you will be fine with the factory pistons and c/r it is 9.1

what are you planning for boost? if youre running 6-10 psi you should be safe. any more than that and you will need to do some modification.

really you could even go up to 12lbs but i would not go with more than that. I WOULD also suggest a set of good head gaskets

12 psi depending on the mileage of the motor and shape of the stock head gaskets. +1 on the good head gaskets, its embarassing to be in a car thats trying to show off and all of the sudden the motor pisses itself.
