gt40p spark plug question
they say long tube headers wont work with the p's, is this because there's no room to change the spark plug once the headers are installed? i hope that's why, seeing as how you can buy specialty spark plug sockets for working in the crowded f body(camaro) engine compartments, and they would be easy enough to make at home.
i would like a set of gt40p's, but if they wont work with long tubes for some other reason, i'll go with gt40's. anything else i should grab besides upper/lower intake and heads? also, with a mild cam, how much difference will the 40's/p's make? i have no clue of the exact cam. |

i dont see why long tubes wouldnt work... the only reason that some headers wont work is cause the spark plug is angled and with most wires unless its a 90* elbow then some of the wires will touch the header.. to eliminate that problem u need to look for a header that will go out a few inches before it starts to turn down like some go stright from the head and immiadetly start turning down and some will go stright out about 2 inches before starting to turn. i am sure there are long tubes out there that will work just ask around.

There are several long tube headers that will work with P heads.

If worse comes to worse, accel makes header plugs that have a shorter body. you may have to do some searching to get some but well worth it. had some trouble with the long tube headers i have and the angle of the plug coming out of my 65 289 heads. I used those plugs and they worked great. you would have to use a different part number than i did because the gt40 have 5/8 plugs.

you should find out what kind of long tubes they are because there are a few sets that work with p heads
And those shorter spark plug sockets work well with them
