The x cam is pushing the maximum cam dimentions that ford feels comfortable saying that will work with a stock bottom end.

okay...does this mean that it has more potential to do some damage compared to say the custom mild cam i have or is it just the max for the bottom end and thats it? my actual question is do you think its fine to run it without changing the bottom end at all?

My buddy tried to put an x cam in his car with a stock bottom end and had ptv clearance issues. I can't say that all engines will have that problem because there is always a little variance from block to block. you'll just have to check and see.

uhhhh are you looking to get a cam for sound or performance?

as far as performance goes, it may be a little too extreme and may hurt youre horsepower and torque. if your last modification was your custom grind cam, id leave it at that since its going to give you the best performance.

I put an x cam with a set of .030 milled gt40ps together and had about .070 clearance between the piston and valve, if that helps.
