they bolt in just fine but there is no hole drilled for the sensor. I was wondering if i could just plug the sensor in and leave it laying under the upper intake.

it's an intake off a 99 exploder. i heard something like 96 and older had the ACT sensor hole drilled in them. I was wondering if i could just drill a hole between my MAF and throttle body and achieve the same results??????

yeah you can relocated the ACT to the intake plumbing. Or just take the lower back off and use a drill and tap to put it in the intake runner.

^Yes, it will tell the EEC underhood temperature, not the actual intake air temperature.

96 and 97s had the internal EGR passages but you have to deal with the ACT and EGR coolant return line holes if you need them.
