Starter location

my starter popped out of position so it cant start the car right now, so i need to move it back and put it in tight cause i think it got loosened when my car was worked on.

couple questions:

Where is it?
How easy is it to get to?
What bolts (sizes) does it use?
Would i have to take the transmission down or something crazy like that?

P.S. im 17 years old with a jack and 2 jack stands. that is my "lift" =)

1. remove the negative battery cable from the battery terminal.

2. put it up on the jack stands.

3. disconnect the large cable from the terminal on the starter motor. (the starter is on the left/back/bottom. (left as you look at the engine from the front of the car))

4. remove the starter motor mounting bolts.

5. turn the wheels if you need to for additional access to the starter. or take the left front tire completely off.

installation is reverse of removal.

not sure of the bolt size. if you've got a socket set, you should be able to find the right one.

mine recently stopped working and it had sheered the mounting tabs right off of it. so make sure it's not broken like that before you try to tighten or reinstall it.

alright went to lowes and they donated a bolt to my cause, got it in and everything's perfect.

i have a stock k-member. and that was a BITCH, but i got it with some minor muscle pains. MINOR!

thanks for the instructions.
For all those people who need instructions and come across this thread:

-Loosen passenger side tire lugs in the front
-Jack car up so wheel is off the ground (the higher the better)
-Take off wheel
-The starter is right next to the bellhousing right under where your headers connect to your exhaust pipes (if you have shorties)
-both bolts are visible but the top one is hard to get to. must use an extension on your ratchet for the top one.
-the bolts are (size) 3/8-24 UNC and are about 1.8''-2'' long. dont remember the size of the hex.

Hope this helps.
