Drum 2 Disk conversion gone BAD???

So, I finally got the kit from North race cars to go from drum to disk on my '92 LX 5.0. I had it professionally done due to my physical handicap and the fact that I know nothing about removing axles and bleeding brakes.

Here is the problem, when I make a hard right turn the caliper rubs the rotor and makes a horrendous sound; like whales gone wild. The tech added washers to give it more spacing but it still rubs.

Has this happened to anyone before? Any ideas? THX...P

I did a Turbo Coupe rear disk conversion, and needed to have the rotors turned so they wouldn't rub.

It sounds like something is moving in your setup that shouldn't move. How does the rotor fit on the axle shaft? Is it tight on the round centre piece, or a little loose?

ya that makes no sense the rotor shouldnt be able to move in any direction without the caliper moving too..

Something is not right, I'd keep taking it back until they got it right.

Good luck.

The calipers are supposed to be able to slide side to side on rear axles disc brakes... If they are moving beyond how far the calipers can move, you'd better check to make sure your mechanic put the c-clips back on the axle shafts, or your differential is seriously worn out.
