2.3 - 302 Engine Swap

Best place to find a good 302 and auto tranny? Doing 4cyl-302 swap in a 87 lx coupe any help would be appreciated, the car will be mainly drove on weekends and to shows so would a c4 be ok? or owuld it be to hard on the motor?

it would be great to have a c4 like that. especially if you only drive it like that, but i know a guy who has a c4 for a daily driver. at first he didnt plan it to be like that but money has come tight for him so now he has to drive it. I dont think it would be that bad on the motor, but maybe after a while it would. I dont have a c4 so i personally wouldnt know, but your situation sounds good to me.

ya all the mustang freaks around my town think its the only way to go, but msot of them build foxes for the strip, so im not sure, they dont understand teh show scene and dependability aspect of it lol. But someone on here said that without overdrive it would shorten the life of the motor, so dunno.

yeah it probably would, but like you said, mainly shows and weekends. I guess it depends on how long you want to drive a car with no overdrive. It would probably be like having 4:10s in a car and driving in 4th gear. Think about it, we cant make your decisions for you, but a c4 is a good tranny in my book even though i have never owned one.

Had a 71 mustang with C4 and 351 and got about a 100,000 miles out of it, remember GM used to only have 2 speeds in the 60's.

Just put in 2.73 gears if you are concerned about the highway and higher RPMs.
