what is the stock compression on a 5.0? what do yall recommend to do to a stock block and internals to get it ready to be blown?

Now fortunantly the 5.0 H.O's were already ready to go for boost and Nitrous. BUT the head gaskets can only take so much. You can but 8psi is the maximum I would do. Replace the head gaskets and you can do 10psi. Just make sure you do timing before you start slamming on it otherwise, you'll get the "bag of marbles" in your cab

YOu don't have to but if I were you, make the power because you'll have more compression. Bore it .30 over nd since you're talking internals now, get the Trickflow 11.1 or 13.1 compression pistons, no need to go blown. Or you can get the 9.5.1 pistons

9:1 is the stock compression. Don't do anything to the stock block or internals. Bolt the blower on and go.

Going from 9:1 to 13:1 compression is not going to make more power than a blower even at low boost levels.

Then rebuild the engine. Its up to you, its your car. Just realize, Darrell is right. You can just bolt the supercharger on, and run.

Keeping in mind ofcourse, you'd need a booster pump of some sort, or bigger fuel pump all together. An FMU, or larger injectors. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a good o2 meter. Otherwise, leave the engine alone, and boost it.

Well I highly understand that. I ned to put my periods in the right spot LOL. I was talking 11.1 or 13.1 being on all motor and the 9.5 was meant for the blown project. I was just throwing stuff out.

What's up Goblin,

He can bolt in on and go but you are right to for performance and safety concerns but if all he wants is a blown stang then he's good with 8psi on stock internals. Now if he wants to blow the shit out of it figurablly speaking on more of 10-15psi, then yeah, a booster fuel pump, bigger injectors, o2 meter, and MAF sensors is a hell of an idea.
