How do I get the window crank handles off?

Well I have a 95, but the fox setup is probably simular. I have manual windows and need to get the door panels off. I need to know any tricks to get the window handles off. I believe there are clips holding them in. I have this little tool, basicly sheet metal that looks like a big 2 prong fork. I think you slide it behind the handle to pop out the clip. It's kind of thick and I don't want to scratch up the plastic. I am having trouble getting it off. I may try making my own out of thinner metal. What do you think?

The outside cover pops off and there is a screw in the center holding the handle on. Hope that helps.

ya that is the tool. u can also push the panel in and see the clip and u could use a mini flathead but what u do is slide that tool in the clip is proly facing the same direction of the arm or the oppsite way of the arm. slide it in then turn the crank then is should pull stright out

well, I feel like a dope. Between the handle and the door panel is another plastic plate that is round. Like a washer sort of. I got a flash light and pryed a little and could see a clip through the handle. It's veiwable between the handle and the plate. Not the plate and the door as I had thought. I got a piece of wire and bent the end into a tiny hook and pulled it out withthe help of some needle nose pliers. The clip is the shape of a ohm symbol. Sorry, can't remember the greek sign. I don't know how I'll get it back in though. Thanks.

snap it onto the window crank, the piece you removed.(like it would be while mounted on window crank shaft thing) and then put the crank in place over the shaft. smack it on. it will slip over the post coming out of the door panel and lock itself in place.
