soon to be drag car help

well in a few months my car will become a strictly strip/street car, my goals for the car is high 9's to mid 10s on spray. now my questions are how do i get there?? i dont know anything about 5.0s, im a camaro guy. as of now my car has a rebuilt stock motor, rebuilt trans with upgraded clutch, rebuilt rear with 3.73's. the motor has a cam, bbks, full msd, cold air intake, then normal stuff. my buddy ran it and ran a 14.1 spinning till third so im thinking its a low 13 sec. car if it had traction. i want to run at least a 200 shot of spray so i know i will need a built motor, any suggestions?? (stock block, boss block wht heads, cam) now as for the tranny i know my stock t-5 prolly culdnt handle the power right? so i would more than likely go to built auto, suggestions??(c4,c6 where to get them, how ti install them in a 5.0) also the rear end, would i be best off putting a 9" in there? i need help on all aspects of the car cause as i stated before i know nothing about mustangs. the car does have full suspension on it now..but i need some advice on wht motor, tranny, and rear end would bet suit my needs for my goals i have in mind. Thanks gregg

351 windsor stroked to a 408, or maybe even a big block. built c4 transmission, and built 8.8 rear

as for the rear a built 8.8 will last? so what should i do first to the rear end? upgraded axles, the posi and what else?? or do they sell complete boltins?

it would probably be cheaper to build one yourself. the 8.8 rear can hold over 900hp if built right. you might even want to look into a spool for it if it will be seeing a whole lot of track time

k thanks man, as for the motor. do you think if i went with a boss 302 block punched it out to a 347 with an eagle forged rotating assembly, some gt-40 or afr heads and a nitrous cam with a 200-300shot i could get into the low 10's??

you don't need a boss block to go 10s, my buddy was running high 10s with a c4, 3000 stall, 373s, slicks, stock bottom end ( well a few versions ) ported stock heads, performer rpm intake , big cam, 750 carb and a 200 shot , altho he went thru his fair share of head gaskets and a couple of split blocks, which is why i always recommend a windsor swap, it's always cheaper and more reliable
