4 eye steering wheel loose?

my steering wheel was incredibly loose and shaky. so, i started taking stuff apart to see if i could find out why.

this is a really simple fix and it took me about 10 minutes.

first thing to do is remove the dash piece in front of the instrument cluster. it's only a few screws in the top.

you also need to remove the piece under the steering column. (4 phillips heads)

next, remove the ring around the steering column, just behind the wheel. just pull it out to the left as shown and it pops right off.

remove the steering column cover pieces by removing 5 screw from the bottom. (3 on the right, 2 on the left)

remove the blinker switch assembly. you don't need to take the harness off of it, unless you want. it's held on by two T-20 screws.

then, remove the wiper switch. held on by 2 phillips screws. again, you don't need to remove the harness before unscrewing the switch. once it's off, it will just hang out of the way.

once the wiper and blinker switches are out of the way, simply tighten the 2 13mm bolts shown in the picture.

put everything back in reverse.

like i said, shouldn't take you more than ten minutes. and, your steering wheel will have a much more solid, sturdy feel.
