I have run my car down the track, with a homade (secured) dry Ice bag. $10 for a 5lb block. and its way colder than Ice.

I know a lot of people do this but looking at this big picture. I don't think you would really notice any difference at all. Unless I see some graphs that show differences of intake air temperature vs ambient temp at the start of the 1/4 and at the end on iced and non iced intakes, I would think it is not required. Sure the intake itself may be different and there is some heat soak when cruising around the pits I'm talking what really matters and that is the temperature of the air while you are actually running down the track.

I've done this in the past and the only thing it does i cool your motor down faster. By the time you do a burnout the intake is already warm again.
But if you need to cool down in a hurry between rounds, it is helpful. It is also helpful to make dyno numbers a little better.

Just use N2O for the ultimate in air charge cooling.

put a small bucket of dry ice right in front of your intake hose while u make a run i bet that would work. or if u still had the air box put it right under the filter.
