Check oil light

How often do you have to add oil after an oil change or do you have to add between oil changes??? I just built the 306 700 miles ago.

+1 a fresh motor like that shouldnt be using any. how long does it take to burn a half/whole quart of oil

dont try this because i hated my motor, but in the old 5.0 i let it run down 4 1/2 quarts of oil before id add any and it ran till the day i pulled it out. had 263,000 original miles on it!

maybe the rings didn't seat? Or you are loosing oil somewhere. Check coolant, and the ground where you park the car.

park your car on some pavement, or put a piece of cardboard under your engine over night after you finished driving it and see if it leaks externally.

No leaking nowhere, nothing in the coolant.

My 1991 has been using a quart every 1500 miles with conventional oil and about every 1000 miles with synthetic since it was brand new up until I had about 145K. I have no idea how much now because I've only put 10K on it in the last 10 years and it gets changed by time now and not miles.

does it smoke at all, on start up, or under WOT. Have someone follow you to tell you, cause you can rarely see it from inside the car.
