TPS Problem?

A buddy of mine hooked up his Digital TPS Monitor to set my TPS voltage and his monitor didn't even power up when we turned on the ignition, its like the TPS isn't registering, but when we plugged it back to the engine with the car running, the engine idle changed. WTF?

We know his monitor works because we used it on his car. What could be the problem?

digital tps monitor? a simple voltmeter would work better than what that sounds like. I've never used a tps monitor but you sure as hell don't need one.

Its actually pretty good. I've used one before. A voltmeter is too sensitive. Go here and check it out. The people are great. http://www.mass-air.com/Products.htm
Besides, I tried a voltmeter but I'm having a strange problem. I'm getting a constant 5volts to all of my sensors for some reason and it won't adjust. (yes, I elongated my screw holes on the TPS).

Hey Terribleonexx88, I was talking to one of my buds and he told me he went to a mustang meeting of some sort and talked to a ford expert I think and the guy said that the 02 sensors will get too hot and burn on the inside. This will cause a constant 5 volts. If you haven't done so, try and replace your 02s and see what happens.

It always gets 5V in than varies the output due to the TP.

Darrell...he's having the same problem I'm having. I still haven't fixed it yet. I just don't know what else to do. The Ford dealer doesn't even know.
