fox car rules for gears....
5spd: 3.73 auto: 4:10 with that being a vert I'd get your chassis upgraded first. Unless you wanna see your car do a lil twistin. Cause over time it will... whether your doing donuts or not.

I am planning on doing the chassis when i do the shocks, breaks and busshings, all at once. Gears will be towards the end of summer.
Thanks, Matt |

3.73 gears for sure over 3.55s.
Why can't you recharge with R134A. I've done it before on a freon system, you just change some fittings. Don't worry about changing anything else over, the R134A will work fine.

Freon is a brand not a gas or liquid.
Just need a R134 Retro kit with the fittings. Ya really need to recover and pull a vac down on it.

this is all opinion its all what your gonna do with the car if its never gonna really see the track or only once in a while yeah go with the 373 but i love my 4.10 i almost never used overdrive with my stock gears now i can actually put it to use. but i am going about 55 at 2k in 5th gear. which is perfect for me.

Actually freon is dichlorodifluoromethane. Freon (R) (capitalized with a trademark) is Duponts trade name for refrigerants (freon in common usage = Freon (R)-12).

Freon is like the bondo name. Widely accepted terminology in the refrigeration field and liberally applied to all refrigerants R-22, R-12, R-401 R-134A etc. Any hum can by 134A because it is non-ozone depleting due to it's lack of chlorine and not regulated under current EPA refrigeration certifications. Retrofiting is easy and while the efficiency drops off in an R-12 system, it is still acceptable. Eventually you will have a compressor failure due to contamination issues (acidity due to incompatable oils) even with a total flush and oil change out, but no big deal. Compressors are a dime a dozen.
