Heating Vents Cont
After replacing the heater core I only have air coming out of my defrost and floor vents. I thought It was a vacume line so this weekend pulled the dash again to double check and every thing was hooked up. when I was replacing the heater core, there was one black and white vacume line I pulled that was on the passnger side that was hooked to a silver looking canister about 2 in tall just to see what it was and noticed that it was a sucking in air. so I let it hang while I was working on the heater core and it quit sucking air after a while and now there is no vacume at all. I just wonder if I have to hook up some kindof external vacume (like a shop vac with air hose used in fish tanks) to re initiate a vacume in the system or what. I had a post on here earlier but cant find it and it suggested a yellow vacume hose on the drivers side but still towred the middle of the dash. I didnt see a compleatly yellow hose but I did see a black/yellow striped hose and they were all in connecetd. any ideas?

hey OTreborO. you did say it should be high in the dash in the center but still towred the drivers side right? just to make sure before I pull the dash off for the 3rd time. I really dont pull the hole thing off I drop the steering colum and undo the torq bolts on the uper part just to give me about a foot of room ie.. defrost vents and behind the speaker grill and remove the 2 8mm bolts behind the kick panels. I have seen some bad picks of the plastic part off but they left the metal fram on. looks like a lot of trouble. this is not me. I dont even come close to this disaster.
![]() [/img] im guessing your talking about the yellow vacume line by the radio in the first pic
