normal sounds?

I can hear in all of my EFI Fords if I listen close. The 4.0 and 3.8's seem to be the worst, can't really hear it in my 5.0's because of the exhaust but it's there. I would think it would be more pronounced in the stock thin tube rails and not so much in the heavier billet ones.

i think you can check if its valvetrain noise with a long screwdriver or stethescope. just put the flat or phillips head to the valvecover and put your ear to the handle and you can hear if the tick is comming from in there.

thanx guys it was an exhaust leak, i got her all fixed up now
