But I have known a lot of people that do have problems with them. What do you expect, you can get a set of 9 mm wires from Ford for $35, shouldn't expect the best quality. 78mach1 Hardcore Enthusiast Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: utah Posts: 1,087	ok so i went out in the garage and hook up my ford racing wires. i got 2.771 k ohms of resistance, im thinking thats normal for a newer wire then i got 5.44 on a old wire i had laying around i tested all the wires and got about the same reading on all mine are ok but i cant say if they are all going to be good __________________ In Memory of Nick Goris.

well i dont see how you could see light from under the boot unless the spark it jumping to the head from the plug but if thats the case there is something wrong with the plug... all the wire is supposed to to is get power to the tip of the plug which its doing i dont see how it could jump from the boot to the head.. were they the universal wires?

gotn20 Regular Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 300	I have this exact same problem. I have tried two sets of wires. Taylors and msd 8.5 on my all stock ignition and the boot lights up at the plug. I don't understand it either. I used some of that cheap boot grease from auto zone and it helped some.

100 ohms per foot is what many claim a performance plug wire should be. Stock wires are in the area of 3000 or so ohms per foot. MSD wires are 50 ohms per foot. I can't remember off hand what my Taylor's were but I think they were around 25-30 ohms per foot.

Are the wires pushed on all the way? Are the plugs good? Just the boots arcing is strange.
