will i need to upgrade my fuel pump?


looks like im buyin seans gt40p heads, got the explobra intake mani already, and cobra fuel system (ecu, 24lb injectors, maf, and tb) so my question is when i do swap the heads and my cam in, will i need a bigger fuel pump? and with that, an adjustable fpr? cuz it is gona get chipped and tuned

you should be fine with the stock fuel pump however it is always good to change out the pump if your planning on doing any other mods.

No, you will not need a AFPR if you are tuning through the computer...that is assuming your stock regulator is doing it's job.

They will tune based on injector pulse width and not fuel pressure.

One of the first things I do on every Mustang I put my hands on is a 255lph fuel pump for several reasons. Chances are the car has a ton of miles on it so the pump has had a long life, the stock pump is adequate for the stock engine and that is about it and lastly I choose a 255lph pump because the extra couple of bucks is worth it to me to not have to change the pump again in the future if I decide to make other changes that demand more fuel. There are no negative side effects of running a 255lph pump over a 190lph, 155lph or any other pump.

so just to be safe i can throw on a 255lph fuel pump and let the tuner take care of the rest?

correct. a lot of people run 255lph pumps no matter how serious the motor is. a lot of people i know run them on just heads or intake
