351W casting numbers

I am trying to decode my 351W block and I cannot find any info on the casting #'s. I was wandering if anyone could help me out. This is the number behind the starter E6AE-6015-BA The second letter 6 could be a G, it was hard to tell. Any help is appreciated, THANKS

the second digit is a 6

youre motor is an 86 i do believe

B-1950-59
C-1960-69
D-1970-79
E-1980-89
F-1990-99

the second diget is the year in the decade your motor was made in. the 'A' after the 6 means it just comes from a ford (not a ford truck, mustang, falcon, and so on) and the E stands for the engine group. 6015 is just the basic part number. and the BA is the revision of the part (in your case the motor). if A was the first letter, it would be the original part, B is the first revision, C would be the second revision and so on and so on.

i hope this helps, let me know if theres anything i need to re-explain

Roller cam 351W blocks started in '94
and will have F4TE serial number.

Can still use roller cam, just have to use the expensive
linked bar lifters.

$500 a set, for that price, solid rollers look really nice.

I think you can get a decent set for more $400-500

You'll end paying that much extra for a roller cam block cause they
are so sought after anyway ...... kind of a 6 up or half dozen down thing.
