the "TV" cable on my 88 popped off, how to adjust? (trans question)

ok so today i took my 88 for a ride, i went to a road and was doing 0-60 times and all the sudden my car wouldnt kick down when i hit the gas

so i pulled over and opend the hood, i checked the tv cable to find it wasnt hooked up so i took a zip tie and put it on temporairly, then got home and put a clip i had laying around on it

but now it doesnt feel like its kicking into 1st, just second.

is there an adjustment?

thanks

yes there is an adjustment and it doesn't take much to fuck it up. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to play with an auto yet so I'm no help as to where it needs to be adjusted.

haynes manual?

Video no longer available?

I was wanting to see that one!

I do know that if you run it without the cables it can burn your trans up quicker than jack rabbit. Mine popped off one of mine a while back not even 2 miles from the house and it fried it. I had to have it rebuilt. Not sure that the cable was 100% of the problem but it was running fine before that issue happened.

Always!
That's why I am one of the few keyboard warriors that haven't busted my monitor yet.

I know that Latemodel Restoration Supply - Mustang & Chevy Truck Parts and Summit Racing both use to carry them for like $7.95 or some ungodly amount. I will go see if I have one on some onld throttle bodies out here. We are 90% carb'd now so I won't need them anymore.

You didn't need to adjust it if only the bushing broke. Just replace the bushing and snap the cable back on....Ken.
