Front speaker grills

Any tricks for attaching them when the plastic nipples are broke? I tried two way tape and sticky back velcro. Neither lasted for more than a few days. I'm thinking about adding two screws but that would be a last resort. This is for my 88 which has carpet on the bottom of the door panel if that matters.

I drilled out the plastic where the factory plastic welds were and just ran small screws into mine from the back. You can't tell from the front. You could also use a plastic welder and just weld them back on too.
