Mass Air


i have an 88 5.0 lx 5 speed with just exhaust and i wanna know if mass air flow will do any thing to positive to my car

maf just measures air will really not do anything till mods take place

You can get away without mass air until you get to changing cams. Heads and intakes work fine with speed density but cams can make things a bit tricky. I ran an F303 cam back in 95 with speed density and got it to work but sometimes it would stall at idle. Stock speed density cars were faster than the later mass air cars.
