Should I convert from a 4 lug pattern to a 5

Im already pretty set on doing this no matter what anyone says, but figure it would behoove me to ask everyone's opinion. Should I covert from my stock 4 lug pattern to a 5 lug pattern?.......feel free to brain bash on this one everyone.

doing so will open you up to a butt load of wheel options not available in 4 lug. and, there's the added strength thing. you can do it for next to nothing. i'm not gonna do it, cause i'm too lazy and i can find the rims i want in 4 lug. but i say do it.

yeah I was thinking long the same lines of doing it for more tire options and for the added strength it adds to the tire to rotor. Thanks for ya'lls opinions..

Why do you want to? Most aftermarket wheels these days are available in most common 4 or 5 lug patterns so don't do it for wheel options unless you found a specific wheel that you want that the company doesn't make in a 4 lug version. Other than that I can't think of any reason to convert to 5 lug.

Well one reason is I been drag racing since I was 6, my dad used to be the Head Manager at Gateway International Raceway. I have always just disliked 4 lug patterns....all in all its just personal preference if you want to ask....

one of the reasons I want to go to 5 Lug, I can get cragars in 4 lug if I want to get them custom made, but why do that when I can simply go to a 5 lug pattern...

Only reason I went to 5 lug was for wheels. The greg weld dragstars I wanted were only available in 5 lug. Otherwise I had not planned on going 5 lug. Thats the reason I went the cheapest route available (ranger parts). I dont know if 5 lug is stronger or not but I have seen plenty of 4 lug stock axles outlast some 5 lug stock axles.

why I've seen a local car go consistant 9.1's in the 1/4 with 33 spline 4 lugers.... they have bigger studs in them and lugnuts w/out the shoulders....... not saying don't do the swap but 4 luggers are pretty stout

If you do 5 lug convert go ahead and do it right man, get a set of moser axels they are stronger and will last. Other than that good luck.

then you can have hot wheels, i think that hottest wheels are 03 cobras, regular and anniversary, both are not availible in 4 lug that i know of.
