Suspension Problem?

Well i purchased my 90 LX about two months ago now and the other day the front right tire blew out, found out it has been rubbing on something and i don't know what, i can't find where it has been rubbing, one possible place is the shock. The tire has a grove cut into the tire and it rubbed off the entire side of the tire on the inside. Any one have any ideals please help!

The car is lowered a little, it has 17x9 Cobra R's 245-45-17
The driver's side is fine, no rubbing at all!? Just the passenger side.

Were the tires rotated before you got the car...??? Might want to check the rear those tires might have been rotated to the front...

I have Nitto Drag Radials on the rear! And driver's side isn't doing it.

At first i said dust shield but looking at the first pic it seems like its alot higher up. So maybe shock or ( wild guess ) the bracket that holds the brakeline. Look around in there your bound to see something thats got some markes on it.

yeah man there is no way a dust sheild would cause that, I would say that the tie rod end maybe??? I would look carefully and rub your hands slowly over any part u can think of, u will find something, or if u can't find anything and didn't hear any noises then it "may" be possible that ur belt broke in that tire and then after a while she blew... If u don't see any rub marks or heard any noises then that could be a option. hope this helps.. A tie rod end is about the only thing I would think could do a line like that other than a broke belt..

Well i got the new tire put on the car and set the car back on the ground, it seems like it is the plastic cover that goes over the shock, i cut it off. It had like 1/4 of an inch of space just sitting on level ground. So i'm sure on curves and driveways and big bumps it was really rubbing. I'm gonna try it out this way for a while and see what's up..... Thanks alote to all of your input and ideals. I post later on after i see if it rubs any more....

245's are too big for a Fox. 225 on the Front should be max and a 17x8 rim is a better fit than the 17x9

Well there's not much i can do about it right now, unless i find someone who wants to trade two 17x9s for two 17x8s. I have 235 45s on it right now untill i find some one who will trade.
