notice how if you ask something on a different thread your questions get answered and we move on...This thread is just different. But if you really want to go home like a baby, please do so. SO far, all you have said is that shorties are da bomb and long tubes arent worth it....your opinion, but many of us have given facts.

Darrell, what kind of headers did you have on that car?

BBK full length with a BBK H-pipe and flowmaster cat back. All 2 1/2" pipe. Nice and quiet.

to put it in economic terms (sorry i've been at school all day), it's all about cost vs. benefits. if you don't feel that 9hp more across the board and 14hp more at peak is worth $100-200 and extra labor (wuss :wink ) than thats your issue, and really you are entitled to your own opinion. but the difference in power is immense. not many mods will raise the power band that much across the entire rpm range, and very very few will give you low-end power. if anything long-tubes are better for the street than shorties because they give you a wider powerband and more torque.

at least you could point out the only benefits of shorties over long-tubes: ground clearance and passing emissions. arguing that there is any other reason not to go with longtubes is just ignorant.
