So this local guy is claiming he has the fasted car around town. It is a BMW 525i with an M5 motor in it. He thinks his car is unbeatable.

Does anyone think I should bother running this guy?

the M5's are a pretty sick car, Light and fast, however putting a M5 motor in a 525i is just not right

i personally have driven one, they are by no means light. big 4 door sedan. v10 500hp, it is a beast but i doont see it running any better than high 12s. top end though there is not much that can hang with it, but yeah try it out from a dig i think it would be a good race.

Even if it is the 500 hp V10, thats still a lot heavier car than yours. Plus he's probably running stock gearing which isn't going to be that high. Unless he has serious work done, I don't think he stands a chance.

the only thing is that 525i body is about 500 lbs less than an m5. its a fast car alright. but i dunno, do you know if its the 7speed or 6speed? the 6speeds are slower and alot slower from a dig. the 7speeds are very good from a dig. each cylinder has its own TB and i guess that makes it launch real hard. when i floored it from a dig i know it did throw me back, but i have seen better. like i said it should be a good race, maybe post a vid of it after?

the new V-10 m5 only runs low 13 , I personally almost beat one in my 240sx when they first came out

i dunno cause the 425hp boat of a charger srt8 runs low 13s. i have driven both the m5 was faster. there are 3 settings with it a 400hp daily driver a 500hp, and a 500 hp with better throttle response using all 10 TBs. also the 6speeds dont have whatever smg thing the 7speeds do which is designed for launching from a dig. the one i drove was in the p500 s mode and a 7 speed

I think his car is fairly well gutted and will probably have autocross tires on it.
I know the M5 motors make 500 hp, but only 383 ft lbs of torque. I am not sure what it weighs. He is one of those ghey dudes that wont say anything about his car, so it could have a power addres somewhere.

To compare my car weighs about 2900 with everything in it and puts down about 500 hp and 490 ft lbs of torque.

I'd probably be running on ET streets and might even use the bottle

the dude in the m5 was riding my ass and trying to make me race him for like two miles so when we hit the four lane he tried to rape me he had a run on me and he still only pulled a fender on me after like half a mile, my 240 makes 320hp at the flywheel and weighs 2400 pounds... you would spank him
