They are MORE evenly matched, but I wouldn't say completely even. The front runners are still going to be a little slower...the distributor pushed the front intake runners back on almost every EFI intake manifold.

no my machene shop told me that they flow nearly the same on every runner stright out of the box. if u have ever looked at the lower intake not on the car the runners are very short and very stright.
ryan you are right i am sure they dont flow the same down to a single cfm but ill find out the numbers and report back

Exactly, the upper to lower intake transition for #1 and #5 is physically behind the #1 and #5 ports in the heads, I don't care what you do to the intake, there is a turn to be made and it slows down the air charge. "straightening" the #1 and #5 runners is a misnomer - you want to maximize the radius and align the runners with the head ports as well as possible. I've flow tested a TF or two also.

Your machine shop is on crack. All small block Ford intakes suffer on the front two runners. Those cylinders are the ones that always go lean. I even tested a prototype intake from a big name company on one of my engines that was supposed to virtually eliminate the lean condition but it didn't do any better than my Super Victor.
