Junk
my engine is junk. its been beat since day one. wat is a cheap swap i will be happy with. its a daily driver im 17 and poor. i kinda want a 351 from a junkyard but i want a reliable car as well as a fast car. wat are some options for me

Stick with the 5.0, lots of parts and complete engines available, the 351 if converting to efi may need computer changes etc. and probably more costly and problematic on a limited budget. Good Luck

has this engine ever been rebuilt? if not bore it 30 over and rebuild it. It will be alot better. If you still dont like it, i agree stick with a 5.0, but try to find something else.....but a rebuild, and some good aftermarket parts are a nice way to perk up the engine.

im debating whether to go with a short block over a long block and then cleaning up some explorer heads and intake

Go with a forged short block...Get some explorer heads and intake...You should notice a nice gain...And then you have a built motor that can handle a poweradder...
