yup, and you can but its never recommended to do a cam without upgrading the 15+ year old springs

The 5 liter HO was the engine that came in Mustang GTs and Lincoln Mark VIIs. They have E7TE truck heads, not GT40s. The 93-95 Cobras have GT40 heads. Ford Explorers came with GT40 and GT40P heads. Both GT40 and GT40P heads out flow the Mustang E7TE heads.

longtubes will make you change your h or x pipe I'd say shorty equal length with an x pipe should sound good and pick up the power

jumping from shorties to longtubes doesnt get a massive gain in hp,.. i believe about 4-5 hp or something like that. But like 93hatch said, i'd probably save the cash for headers and spend it on a set of gears or somn.

Its more than that but every car varies. Going from stock shorties to aftermarket shorties is about 4-5hp in best cases. From what I've seen shorties to full length is typically 10-15hp and an equivelant amount of torque.

The 1997 1/2 and newer Ford Explorer V8 heads (GT40P) and intake are a nice upgrade to a stock Mustang engine.
