How wide a tire can i go with 15X8 Welds?

I have a pair of 15X8 weld draglites with 225/60 rubber/ BFG Traction t/a's in the back......well there shot and time to get new ones...i want to go a lil bit wider cuz last time i didnt because i was unsure how big i could go on that size rim and i didnt want the tire to stick out of the wheel well when looking from the back..i dont like that look.. comments please?.thanks

do you know the back spacing of your Welds. 5.5 inch BS you can go wider with out it sticking to far out like if you used the same tire but with a 4.5 inch BS.

i know people who have 275/60 series on their car with draglites with 5.5 inch BS. but thats like almost a 28 inch tire.

what you have no is like a 25.6 inch tire

a 255/55 is close to a 26 inch tire.

no i am not sure ..is there any way i can find otu ..like do i measure from the back or from the front lip to the middle??....

use this as a example

Lay the wheel Face down, and measure from the mounting pad to the inside edge of wheel to get you BS of the wheel
