I am actually going to do this swap. I have a 406 SBC that came out of my dragster that I am going to put into a 1990 hatch that I bought. The interior in this car is mint!!!! It looks like the day it rolled off the show room floor. The odometer reads 50000 miles and the body is in great condition for a GT that is 19yrs old. Paint is starting to fade in places. I called AJE and they are about 4 weeks out on the k-member and Dyna-Tek was finishing a run on the headers last week. I am so pumped to do this swap I think it is going to be awesome. Good luck with your project.

Cheaper depends on where you get the parts and how much you pay for them. Dollar per horsepower a Chevy is most of the time cheaper to build but by the time you buy all of the swap parts to put it in a Mustang it ends up costing the same or more than building a Ford engine. To each his own though. I have no beef with someone that wants to put a different brand engine in a different brand car. That's what makes this hobby so interesting.....creativity and ingenuity.

early 80's malibu long tube headers all but drop in, you have to put a small dent on the floor board on the passenger side, other wise they drop right in. Can pick up a cheap set of flowtechs for 100 bucks brand new
