H pipe Hanger

Anyone know where I can get the hanger for the h pipe that goes between the crossmember and transmission? I have checked all the local salvage yards and came up empty. And the local parts stores all look at me like I am crazy and say to go to the dealership. Dealership says they can get me one, but it is ~$100.

just use some steel rod, like a steel dowel, bend it (use a torch if avalible) and then weld it on your exhaust.

I found one for $48 plus shipping >>> 79-93 HANGER, H-PIPE, MANUAL MUSTANG
Thanks for the replies. I did think about making one, but I would rather have one as a go by. I may hold off a little longer and see it the local muffler shop can fab up something. I talked to the guy there earlier and he said to bring it by and he would see what he could do. I hate to drive it around with the entire exhaust system hanging from the headers. I have only went 4 miles on my fresh rebuild and it is killing me.

I use to go thru so many transmissions that I found getting rid of that bracket allows you to pull the H-pipe down to remove the trans without dropping the exhaust.

keep it simple, if you absolutely don't need something then get rid of it, the less stuff you have the less stuff to break or aggrevate you

i just used a regular hanger, like one you would use for hanging the pipes at the end. i got ones that fit really tight into the rubber holes and then kind of angled them so that it wouldnt pull out so easy..... and unless you are running with your headers or exhaust manifolds with only 1 loose bolt and they are singing you shouldt have a problem with support of them coming loose and sliding out
