Need Help With Rotors....


sorry guys never done these be4.... im replacing the rotors, and wheel bearings.. now is there two wheel bearing for one rotor theres one you see on front of spindle where cotter pin is.. then theres a bigger one in the rear sitting closet to dust shield.. im replacing both of em... now on the new rotors there no ring of metal that the bearing rides on.. i have the new ones... do i just install some grease and bang them in with a hammer or is there some way im supposed to do them????? please let me kno.. trying to replace everything in the front end at once so i dun have to do it again.. thnx guys appreciate all the help..

That is weird. I've never seen a set of rotors that didn't have the races already installed. You can drive them in with a hammer and a race driver but it would save alot of time if you went to a different parts store and bought rotors with races already installed.

You will probably need to have the outer bearing rings pressed
into the rotor. Thats a really tight fit there, doubt a hammer will work
without scoring the metal.

Any decent gas station garage should have a small press, take about 5mins.
and charge very little.

+1, odd the rotors didnt already have them in there.

yea i kno its wierd.. i went to two parts store and both of them where like that... i tried just placing them in with a rubber hammer.. and can only get them in so far...

well that SUCKS..that would piss me off. Thankfully never had that problem. If need be .. n the future i will surely check!
